This post is adapted from a National Academies email sent on 30 September:
The US National Academies’ Board on International Scientific Organizations (BISO) has initiated a project aimed at evaluating the experiences of international researchers in navigating the short-term business visa application process for travel to the United States.
If you are a scientist, engineer, or healthcare professional based outside the United States and have applied for, or considered applying for, a short-term business visa in the past decade for purposes such as collaboration, attending a convention, conference, or seminar, we encourage you to participate in a brief, anonymous survey. The survey takes approximately 10 minutes to complete and is designed to capture insights about your visa application experience.
Your feedback will provide BISO with critical data on how visa processes influence international scientific meetings and collaborations. This information is instrumental in shaping future discussions and fostering improvements within the global research ecosystem. Please note that BISO, as part of the National Academies, is an independent organization and does not influence or control U.S. visa regulations.
Please feel free to share this invitation with any colleagues who may be interested in providing feedback on their visa application experiences. The deadline for responses is 12:00 (UTC) on October 18, 2024. The survey results will be compiled into a public report, scheduled for release in 2025. |
