I am honored to be nominated for BioMac Chair-Elect position. I became an ACA member in 2021 and am currently serving as the BioMac SIG Secretary and as a finance committee member, in addition to co-organizing a session at the 2025 ACA meeting in Lombard, IL. I earned a Ph.D. under Dr. David Baker at the University of Washington and received postdoctoral training under Joan Broderick and Martin Lawrence at Montana State University. I started my own research lab at Brigham Young University in 2017. My research group and I have worked to develop the TELSAM polymer forming protein crystallization chaperone. In addition to X-ray crystallography, we also use cryo-electron microscopy and protein engineering to carry out drug and biologic development. If elected, I will promote unity and a sense belonging in the BioMac SIG and encourage high-impact meeting programming. I thank you for your consideration.

I am a structural biologist with expertise in crystallography, cryo-EM, and drug discovery, with experience (~25 years) leading collaborations across academia and industry. As Chair, I will prioritize strengthening SIG engagement, creating inclusive opportunities for early-career scientists, and building cross-disciplinary connections that keep our community innovative, collaborative, and impactful. |
